Surrounded by defensive walls Erice is a town astonishing with its exceptional, slightly mysterious aura and… traditional cookies. Located high on Monte San Giuliano hill, with beautiful view on Trapani, sea and salterns. In ancient times the town was offered to goddess Aphrodite, in Middle Ages Normans destroyed the antique temples and build the stone town we can see today. It used to be the capital of the region, today the population is barely 200 people. Erice delights with its charming cafés and little shops offering local crafts. It’s a stunning place which you necessarily need to see while visiting Sicily.

Relish the atmosphere of ancient cities! Visit exceptional ruins of Selinunte city located on the south-western coast of Sicily in Castelvetrano. Among other things, you can find there an incredible archaeological site containing very well preserved Doric temples. The aura of this place can, in a way, help you go back to times when ancient Selinunte was at its greatest. It allows you to let your imagination run wild and get enchanted by antique architecture. In times of Magna Graecia (Great Greece - ancient times name of the coastal areas of Southern Italy), the town was, beside Campania, a very important sanctuary. .

Segesta
Just a half an hour drive from our spot, in the city Segesta, you can find historical monuments that stood by the highly dynamic history of the region. Politically independent city populated by Elymians, it was waging a war with Greeks, Romans and the leadership of Syracuse, finally was destroyed by Carthaginians. After its greatest years we still have left unusually well preserved, never finished Doric temple and antique theater beautifly integrated into the hill. For everyone who would like to relax after a long day out in the water we can recommend a SPA with natural thermal water, which sources are in Segesta.

Scala dei Turchi is an impressive, white limestone cliff. Its name is in Italian and translates to "Stair of the Turks". It comes from the cliff’s staircase shape, that allowed turkish pirates to get on the island and served them as a shelter during storms. It is surrounded by a beautiful, long beach, which every year guests many kitesurfing lovers from around the world.

Salterns in Province of Trapani are production plants which extract rock salt from sea water, that used to be base of region’s economy. Today, because of the visual effect, they amaze especially during spectacular sunsets, shimmering and reflecting pastel colors, making marvelous geometric patterns. Windmill on the background of a sunset became the province’s symbol. Salterns provide beautiful aesthetical experiences and are an amazing background for outdoor photography. Around the salterns you can find a lot of cafés and restaurants, which are only a few minutes trip from our spot.
