Polish wingfoil school in Sicily

Wingfoil course in Sicily

Learning to wingfoil at Kitestation is a process of mastering levitation above the water using a wing and a hydrofoil board. Thanks to the unique conditions of the Lo Stagnone lagoon – flat water and stable thermals – students bypass the most difficult part of struggling with balance on waves. The training includes the “Taxi” phase (buoyancy training), learning to generate lift, and stable levitation flight, supported by professional belaying and real-time radio communication.

What is a wingfoil?

Wing foiling, also known as foil surfing or foilboarding, is a relatively new water sport that combines elements of windsurfing, kitesurfing, and stand-up paddleboarding. It involves using a handheld, inflatable wing and a surfboard with a hydrofoil attached underneath.

  1. Versatility: Wing foiling allows you to enjoy a variety of wind and water conditions, making it suitable for both calm and windy days.
  2. Easy learning: Compared to other water sports like windsurfing or kitesurfing, wing foiling has a relatively gentle learning curve. With proper lessons and practice, beginners will quickly master the basics and begin to enjoy the pleasures of foiling.
  3. Availability: Wing foiling is a sport accessible to people of all ages and fitness levels. It doesn’t require much physical strength, and the wing provides stability and control.
  4. Full body workout: Wing foiling engages the entire body and is a great workout. It’s a fun way to stay active and improve your fitness.
